I’m starting the process of building a team around me. Primarily to help with my debut stand up show, “How’s Your Head?”, which will premier at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. 

 

There are a range of responsibilities  and areas I would like help with. And so I have split them into 2 Separate Roles.

However if you feel as though you could do all of, or some of the roles, please do get in touch and we can talk. 

 

So the Roles I am looking for are:

  • PA/Operator

Role 1

Emerging Producer

Fee: £X–£X depending on experience / availability
Start: ASAP End: October 2026 (With scope to extend)

I’m looking for an emerging producer with a passion for live performance (comedy in particular) to support the development and delivery of my debut show How’s Your Head?.

​

You will work closely with me and with lead producer Hannah Smith (producer for The Wardrobe Ensemble, FlawBored) to support the day-to-day organisation and logistics of the project.

​

This role is designed as a development opportunity for an emerging producer who wants to gain hands-on experience supporting a new show as it develops and heads to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2026.

​

The show has several work-in-progress performances between now and August 2026, followed by a rehearsal period in Manchester and two preview performances at Lowry, Salford, before travelling to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.

You will also work with Lowry, who have commissioned the show, as well as other venues and organisations across the UK.

 

Responsibilities

The producer will support the smooth running of the project across development, rehearsals and performances.

This may include:

• Supporting communication with venues and partners
• Assisting with contracts for the creative team
• Coordinating schedules, rehearsals and logistics
• Supporting the organisation of work-in-progress performances
• Managing and tracking project budgets and expenses
• Supporting marketing activity and show promotion
• Inviting industry to performances to help build relationships and opportunities for the show
• Helping ensure the project runs smoothly across development and touring stages

 

Who we’re looking for

Someone who is:

• Interested in and committed to producing, particularly live comedy / comedy theatre
• Excited to work alongside and learn from experienced professionals
• Highly organised with strong time management skills
• Comfortable managing multiple conversations and tasks at once
• A clear communicator who enjoys working collaboratively

 

Desirable

• Some experience producing or assisting producing live performance
• An interest in comedy or comedy theatre
• Some familiarity with the Edinburgh Fringe Festival

 

Practical considerations

The role is part-time and project-based, with time commitments varying across the development process and increasing around rehearsals, previews and the Edinburgh Fringe.

Ideally the producer will be able to spend time in Manchester and/or London during key project periods, and may be interested in travelling to Edinburgh for the Fringe run.

Role 2

PA/Operator

Fee: £125 (Per Day) + flat fee for the Edinburgh Fringe (tbc)
Start: ASAP End: September 2026 (With scope to extend)

This role is an amalgamation of lots of traditionally separate jobs which I would love to find one person to cover. Whilst this is only for this project at the current time. I am hoping to find someone with whom I can build a strong working relationship with, which can carry on long into the future, following me and my career. 

One thing which I can’t believe I haven’t mentioned until now, is that I am blind and so this person will need to assist with certain tasks.

 

Some of the roles that this position would cover include:

  • Show Operation (Stage Manager)

  • Access Worker

  • PA

Responsibilities

Operation/SM

  •  Operate the Shows at 

    • WIP shows

    • Previews

  • Edinburgh 

    • Get the show in for performances

    • Pre show checks

    • Get the show out

    • Assisting with Flyering at the Edinburgh Fringe

​

​PA/Access Worker

  • Manage Aarian’s calendar and send/chase emails 

  • Organise and send application/enquiry/invite emails 

  • Organise and check travel arrangements 

  • Make notes during meetings and follow up on actions 

  • Researching, recruiting and managing other professionals to carry out tasks

  • Run errands 

    • Eg. Grabbing Coffee, filling up water, purchasing consumables for the show

Not for this engagement but would be useful for future work

  • Ability to note take in a rehearsal room 

  • Ability to line feed in a rehearsal room

 

Who we’re looking for

Someone who:

  • is fun, friendly and positive

  • is excited to work along side, and learn from established professionals 

  • with strong organisational and time keeping skills

  • is able to keep track of multiple conversations and projects 

We are not looking for someone with boat loads of experience in all of these jobs. Just someone who is ready to learn on the Job and has a strong work ethic. 

 

Desirable

  • Some experience in any of: Stage Management, Show Operation, Access Work, Managing Calendars, acting as a PA 

  • A Base/Place you can stay in London and/or Manchester

  • A place you can stay at the Edinburgh Fringe for the month of August
